The classic image of the cowboy on his horse has inspired the imagination UGG
Kensington of many over the years. This isn't too surprising, and
yet, there is often one thing missing from the internal visual for "cowboy" and
that would be the cows. Without cows, there would be no cowboys and cowboy boots
might never have been invented. After all, it was the changing taste of the
American public towards beef and the California UGG
Classic Short Sparkles Gold Rush's influx of money to pay for such
that created the era of the cattle drives from 1866 to 1886. Though this era was
short-lived, but it helped spark a culture and of course, a style UGG Retro
Cargo of dress now known as western wear. By the 1890s, fences were
up and land was being bought and sold, previous to this, most land was still
wide open and unowned. In order to get cattle from grazing lands in Texas back
east to where they would be sold- Chicago was one of the main destinations due
to a meat packing plant that opened there after the civil war - you had to round
the cattle up and get them to the railroad all the way up in Kansas. This was
quite a distance for the cattle and men, and a distance that needed to be
covered at a pace that ensured that the cattle would still be fat enough to get
a good price. This meant striking a balance that covered territory and still
left plenty of grazing and down-time for the cattle. There were no easy jobs on
the trail, and it was possible that you could be out there for as long as two
months.Western wear, as a result, had to be up for the job. It had to withstand
weeks and weeks on the trail out in the elements. It is no surprise then, that
some of what was commonly worn at the beginning of the cattle drives changed
over time. For example, they didn't have cowboy boots, as we know them today, at
the beginning of this period. Most of what was being worn was more like the
military riding boots that were worn during the civil war. Cowboy boots were
actually created by commission, when a rider on one of the trails (either Texas
or Kansas, no one knows for sure) walked into a boot maker with his design for a
boot. These boots quickly gained popularity due to the many features that made
life both safer and more comfortable on the trail. Today, cowboy boots they are
the standard for most anyone that spend time in a saddle, or working outside.
Western apparel boots have unique features for life in the saddle, from front to
back and top to bottom. Cattle drives today are not what they once were, but
still, just about anywhere you find cattle, you're sure to find the stock
standard of western apparel on those taking care of them: cowboy boots.
